CONGRATUALATIONS!  A new baby is always such a special, and monumental moment!  The reason that I stress Lifestyle for these sessions is that I love to capture your new addition and family in the most stress free and natural environment possible.  That being said, I always tell my clients to tentatively plan to schedule our shoot one week after your due date BUT to keep me posted when the time comes on how your family unit is doing and how the pregnancy is going.  Once you have your baby, I ask that you call or text me when you get home (second day home) and we discuss the actual date depending how you all are adjusting with your new addition.  I have two children myself and after my first daughter, I felt like the world was falling apart when I got home and so that is why I stress contacting me when you get home and settle to re-confirm.  I totally get emotions and how they can change so I want you to know that I am here for you and I am flexible.  I want to come on a day that you can breathe and be excited about the shoot.  THE BABY WILL CRY AND ITS OKAY!  I navigate through my ideas and around your house depending on how the day goes.  If the baby gets to a solid sleep, I will play around with some poses of him/her by themselves and get the detail shots, but I will not make your house a million degrees and force your baby into frog pose!  I focus on the way you look into babies eyes, how excited/frightened siblings are of their new addition and all the special organic moments that happen throughout the session.  If you are not sure how to prep your house or what to wear, PLEASE get in touch with me and we can get that all taken care of BEFORE the day of the shoot.  I always recommend less is more....a bed that has light neutral colors and nothing too flashy or a corner of the house that is cleared off without clutter.  I also suggest that parents wear subtle colors so we can focus on the baby.  I will also most likely move things around your house (with your permission) to achieve the best lighting and photograph, so don't worry about that, the most important thing is to have tables and floors cleared off in the places we take the photos.  I give up to 90 minutes for these sessions to leave time for breaks and nursing but if all goes well, this session could take as little as 1 hour.  Believe me, I know your family may think 1.5 hours is really long but it goes by super fast and I take turns between parents and siblings, baby by themselves, nursery photos and details so there is plenty for me to shoot and plenty of breaks!

I also have a complete package if you are interested in me photographing your journey from pregnancy to after birth!  If you go to my packages and prices, you can see the details and prices of each package individually as well as together.  I look forward to documenting these beautiful times with you!
